Version 1 – March 1996

The first version of the site came into existence in March 1996. It was located on a college computer and was only online for a few months.

Version 2 – July 1997

After I signed up with my Internet Service Provider Telecom Eireann, I was given 5 Mb of web space, so I re-created a second version of the site.

Version 2.1 – December 1997

Added real sound of the Parish Church pipe organ stops.
I also created a sister site called The Youghal Pages. I also responded to the many emails I was receiving about Youghal.

Version 2.2 – March 1998

Changed the look of the site, with a new theme. Also revamped the Midi and Link pages and created a new guest book page, in order to display the comments I received via email.

I discovered I was also awarded four shamrocks rrom the Doras Directory of Irish Websites, which was a nice surprise, especially when I realised the highest was five shamrocks.

In July 1998 I obtained the URL www.listen.to/organs and pointed it to The Pipe Organs of Youghal.

When I was in America (July–September 98), I was awarded "Site of the Week" by Doras, an honour I was not expecting, but nonetheless flattered to receive.

Version 2.3 – September 1998

Changed the look of my site via FrontPage Themes, but began to dislike the whole look of site. I intended to change it, but college took up a lot of my time and delayed me from doing so.

Discovered that I was now entitled to 10 Mb of web space.

Version 3 – February 1999

Even though Microsoft FrontPage created "nice looking pages" from a html point of view, I realised they were not so nice visually speaking. Having seen other pages on the web with a similiar appearance, I decided enough was enough and I revamped the whole site altogether to make it FrontPage free!

I also signed up to the Organ Web Ring, so my site could be found easily by other organ enthusiasts.

In April 1999, the site was awarded Organ Web Ring Site of the Month.

Version 3.1 – June 1999

Moved the site to a new asp-based server, with a temporary address of http://www.ofIreland.com/organs/.

Version 3.2 – July 1999

A friend and I secured the domain name www.youghal.net, and changed the site to this new address www.youghal.net/organs. Also made a few slight changes, namely a new asp guestbook, and other minor corrections.

Version 4 – February 2007

Added a collegiate church page, as they are planning a new organ in 2007. Add mp3's & new photos for St Mary's RC.

Will re-launch the site soon with new look and feel and url! www.youghalpipeorgans.com
