Roman Catholic Parish Records

The Roman Catholic records only go as far back as 1801. Before that, records were unable to be kept! The records for the 19th century have been computerised, while the 20th century ones are currently under that process.

Church of Ireland Records

(Special thanks to Nick Reddan for this info.)
The Church of Ireland records start in 1665 though there is a gap from 1720 to 1727. A copy is held at the National Archives in Dublin, a typescript exists in the Irish Genealogical Research Society in London and the originals are held in Youghal.

Youghal Graveyard Records

Information here is available form Youghal' s Town Hall. Unfortunately if a person is described as being buried in "The Old Graveyard", there is no way of knowing where exactly a person is buried (this is so, because those records were lost in a fire). Do not give up hope! I was still able to find my great grandfather's grave, through talking to people.
I can't remember how far back they go but I was able to go as far as the early 1900's.

The Devonshire Papers

(Special thanks to Nick Reddan for this info.)
The Devonshire Papers are usually called the Lismore Papers, being the papers of the Boyle family (Earl of Cork, Orrey etc) and their Lismore Estate. The originals are in the National Library with microfilm copies in the Waterford Library, though the quality of the latter may be suspect. The estates and the papers passes to the Duke of Devonshire through marriage with the Boyles.
